Preparing for your egress window installation project
INSIDE
Plan for install. We ask for a clear area inside of at least 6 feet minimum* in front of the egress window install project area in all directions. Whether your space is finished or unfinished we will set up a dust containment tent inside and cover furniture in the immediate area. Dust happens, but we try to keep it to a minimum.
* If you have fragile or delicate items please move them before we arrive. This area will be left as a rough opening for the final city inspection.
OUTSIDE
We will call and arrange to have public utilities marked before window well installation. Please inform us of any private utilities that may be present on your property. If there are any yard décor, rocks, plants etc. in the area please remove them prior to egress window installation, as this area will be disturbed. We dig holes by hand with a shovel, and use our precision tools to cut your foundation
AFTERCARE
A small amount of dirt will be left onsite for backfilling of your new window well installation, due to settlement. You will want to maintain the slope AWAY and continue to divert roof runoff, gutters, downspouts and sump drain AWAY from your New Egress Window and Well. Do not put weed inhibitor in well basin( IE. fabric, plastic ,paper) Its also encouraged for you keep the basin free of debris and vegetation growth, in order to have years of enjoyment of your egress window installation.
